Biodiversity in Capraia: participate in the LIFE TETIDE event on July 21st

Discovering the biodiversity of Capraia: the LIFE TETIDE event of July 21st

The natural heritage of Capraia Island is a treasure of immeasurable value, a unique ecosystem that requires attention, care, and concrete safeguarding actions. With this objective, the project LIFE TETIDE promotes a day entirely dedicated to the protection of the territory and the enhancement of local native flora, offering participants the opportunity to immerse themselves in the island's biology and traditions through a guided and experiential journey.

An afternoon of science and territory at the Info Park

The appointment is set for Tuesday 21 July at 5:00 PM at the Info Park, the ideal starting point for a day of sharing and environmental awareness. Activities will begin with the setting up of our official info point, a meeting space that will introduce the scientific discussion curated by experts Alice Misuri and Lorenzo Lazzaro.During this focus, the main threats endangering the balance of island biodiversity will be closely analysed, providing the public with the tools to understand the importance of conserving native flora.

From the botanical walk to the Wild Kitchen laboratory

Immediately after the introductory session, the group will move onto the field for a Botanical walk dedicated to recognising the native plants of Capraia in their natural habitat. The route will then evolve into a unique sensory and cultural experience thanks to *Cucina Selvaggia* (Wild Kitchen), a special practical workshop and show cooking focused on the sustainable use of wild botanicals at the table. The initiative will not end on-site; at the end of the activities, to actively and lastingly contribute to the island's environmental regeneration, each participant will be given native seedlings to take home and care for personally.

How to participate and useful information

The event is public, free and open to anyone who wishes to rediscover the deep connection with nature of the Tuscan archipelago.
To best participate and fully enjoy the field trip, we recommend wearing Comfortable clothing and comfortable shoes suitable for walking.

It is also noted that, for documentation, scientific dissemination, and communication on the project's official channels, photographic and video recordings will be made throughout the day.
